DRIPTROIT 71 Posted March 9, 2021 This is my new project. A 68 Dodge D800 dump. The Lindberg kit will donate many parts including the chassis, engine and transmission.

vincen47 Posted March 13, 2021 What are your plans for this build? Paint choice, weathering? Early in it’s career or a survivor that’s mostly retired?

I had planned to weather it, but other than a little trash, the paint turned out really slick, maybe too slick though. Definitely not new, possibly restored, but still undecided. I have a little progress. The engine is about ready too.
vincen47 Posted March 14, 2021 Looking good thus far, as expected. That’s a classic color. What engine is that from Lindberg?

The hood didn’t fit good from the beginning. I think something must of happened in casting. After some work I had it fitting pretty good, but it seems to have shrank with paint. Oh well! The color is good ol alpine green engine enamel. 😀 I have plenty and it was pretty close to the original turf green. The engine is the 361 from the Lindberg kit as is the chassis. It was mastered by Charles Rowley. I don't think that anyone is currently casting it.
02fusoFG Posted April 21, 2023 That's a real bitchin' ride ! I love the "for sale" sign, it gives the model "life". I find the mirror brackets and brake cylinder lines impressive, along with the heater hose. Color really fits the era (imo). And look at the iconic air (oil bath ?) cleaner...
