    • AMT Ford C 900/Garwood LP 900 refuse truck

...Finally got enough work done on the packer body worthy of posting....   Got the under body control valve assembly plumbed.  Used 24 gauge floral wire for the hydraulic lines.  I've began some subtle weathering in spots and taped off the areas that need to stay white.  All the packer bodies coming off of the Garwood assembly line were painted white, which makes things a lot easier as far as a build goes.   Electrical conduit for rear lights on the hopper...located between the hydraulic lines and the under body control valve assembly.....flexible section to be tied in to the trucks electrical system later.   Since I am going to be displaying this with the packer body roof off at shows, I added a support rib at the rear of the body to support the race way for the rubber hydraulic lines (3) and the metal electrical conduit.  The electrical conduit line is already attached.
    • Another Peterbilt 359 snapper on deck

Hello everyone and welcome to the start of another Peterbilt 359 snapper build thread. I have built several of these over the years and always am satisfied with my satisfactory builds. This one will be the most detailed one I have ever attempted. I will pirate some parts from the AMT Peterbilt Wrecker Re-pop to incorporate in this build. As always the color choice, and brand/type of paint is a struggle for me until I finally pin it down. Although I am probably leaning towards Acrylic lacquers (either Tamiya, or Testors One Coat's)  That being said the start of this will be shelved until the temperature gets lower as I've tried to paint some parts earlier this week with some less than stellar results. Will post from time to time.

Update on the build. Took a ton of time off since my last post. Here it is with the stripes laid down. Then with decaling done, and the frame in semi gloss black.
    • AMT KW Kits

Can’t offer any help, but may I suggest asking over at the Model Cars Magazine forum? It gets a lot more traffic and I’m sure there’s a truck guy over there that has built those kits.
    • AMT KW Kits

To all, Hello and hope everyone is well. I have two AMT KW Conventional kits both bought within the last year. One purchased last May is the Alaskan Hauler, and the other is the W900 Challenge mixer. I know of the traditional issues involving the windows, and the rear suspension so that being said if anyone has built either, or both I could use pictures for reference on both of these kits. For the Alaskan I have already removed the left side air cleaner port, and filled in the holes for the left side exhaust stack. Have assembled the butterfly hood. Obviously I am going with the Hill & Hill livery. Just have to score the Green paint, and the Red paint. As far as the Challenge mixer goes I am unsure if I am building it as the mixer, or as an over the road tractor. If I go the tractor route I do have all the parts for a Mercury sleeper box. These in addition to the two AMT CO4070A's, and the Peterbilt 359 California Hauler in the stash should keep me busy. For a while. The true test is to avoid going on websites, or into Hobby Shops and picking anymore kits that I have no time to build. LOL. Thank you for looking. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry 55

Sharp looking truck, like the single axle flat bed.

Finished this one early this year. I started with the Revell/Monogram snapper. Shortened the frame and scratchbuilt a bed.
