I started years ago when I was around 5 years old. Started with the Snap kit semis, after awhile I got into cars and built many kustoms, drag, weathered, pickups, short trackers, etc... Now as I’m 50 and working to obtain my CDL I’ve gotten the itch to build trucks again. Now mind ya I still build all the other stuff too yet but the rigs are taken over a big part of my bench as of late..

Ok, I haven’t done too much on this build lately but I’ll post it up anyway. I have another project I’ve been working on and am hoping to get back to this shortly. I’m using the KW T600 as a base kit, resin W9 hood, stretched the frame and added a tag axle.
Chassis is painted now and wheels installed.
The Steer Car is a Peterbilt 359 with a Z’d frame and cut down cab. No engine as they are steered by electric servos..
This is where it is so far. I’m also building a tri axle dolly that the beam will span across that and the Pete.. It has the mirrors from the T600 on it.
Tow bar on it..
cab and hood are painted a burgundy color right now but not happy with it. May get re painted!

Looking good so far!! Awesome progress..

I need to find a way to display my trucks. Right now I have them in cardboard flats on a shelf. Just to keep them safe.

Easy enough question right? I've been curious to know how everyone displays their trucks and /or trailers. Do you have a glass display case? Open shelves? custom lexan covers? I'm not sure if this has been covered or not, if it has I'm sorry. I'm just curious to know how everyone displays their works of art.. That and trying to get ideas of how I want to display mine! Post photos if you don't mind, if you don't want to or can't post pics that's ok too!
Thanks in advance and can't wait to see your displays!!

It seems a bit slow over here but hey! At least it's a site dedicated to truck modelers!!! I like that stand point, don't have to weed through all the Scooby Doo vans to see a decent rig ya know??!! Not that I mind Scooby Doo or anything... LOL

My kids 2001 did that last summer except it was a rear mount, went through the bed floor!!! Yikes!! Fun changing it too, had to torch it out...

This is a truck that I received in a trade deal and has a neat story behind it. I started building the truck and scratchbuilding a lot of things on it. I got to the headache rack and couldn’t quite get it to look right and posted an ad on another site looking for a rack from the kit. The next day the guy that traded me the kit pm’d me and asked if I’d mind if he could tinker with one and try it? I was like sure! A week later I find a box in the mail with the headache rack in it! Kind of kool that he had a hand in bringing it full circle and finished the build off with his work!!
Autocar with back half of frame added, drop axle is a Peterbilt front axle, bunks and most of the trailer is scratched, trailer is fully articulated, extends, flexes etc.
Added wet kit for possible grappler if they needed one, I do have logs cut so it has a load, thought I had pics of it loaded. Have to look for them...

Decals that are available through modeltruckin.com
they are something that I got in a trade deal and I think they had modeltruckin’s info on them if I remember right.. I just cut the sheet to clear the steel portion of the bed..
