    My KW W900A Aerodyne

Good day all and hope all are well. In the throes of my KW W900A Aerodyne project. This is how far I am thus far about 80% done. Model Master Classic White and Ultraviolet Pearl lacquers.

Thank you. Very cool can't wait to see your finished build.
  8. Just trying to actually finish one not manufactured by Revell would be nice. And I am totally serious.

    why trucks?

Simple. 1975 I attended a regional carrier Truck Rodeo in Long Island NY (Nassau Coliseum parking lot) with my friend Jimmy. Fell in love with an old CF White Freightliner slim line single drive. From there is was trucks, trucks, trucks. Until I was 18 and then it was girls, girls, girls. Have built all sorts of models over the years, planes, cars, trucks. Still building all types since picking up the hobby again in 2016.

    My KW W900A Aerodyne

Paul, Hi hope all is well. Thanks very much for the comments. I like to use black craft acrylics watered down and wiped off. No engine grease has a conscience in real life. Big rigs as opposed to classic or muscle cars rarely look showroom new so I like to make that apparent in my works. Next up after this W900A is my Transtar 4300 day cab. Still hung up on the choice of frame color on that. Choices are now between Red, Navy Blue, Dark Green, or Semi Gloss Black.
  11. Hello all and hope everyone is well. My wife is getting me a new kit for fathers Day and it will be from one of the following all AMT. GMC Astro 95 Autocar A64B Mack Cruiseliner I built all of these 40 something years ago and at almost 58 my mind is a little fuzzy on assembly. So my questions are as follows: What issues are prevalent? Example hinges don't fit right. Cab sits too high. The exhaust tubing needs attention. The mirrors don't fit correctly without work. Engine has fit issues. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Paul, Good morning. It's Model Master Ultraviolet Pearl (!997 Ford color) lacquer rattle can.

    My Fathers Day gift

Paul, I suppose we both have the issues. Here are pictures so far of the project. I was able to correct the hood boo boo pretty well.

    My Fathers Day gift

Well primed her over the weekend and laid down the Model Master White lacquer last night. While going to give her a second coat on the hood dopey old me dropped the hood off the stand. Nice scratch marks were the result. Will sand, prime, and re shoot the hood. Paint and I don't mix very well. Live and learn.
  15. Afternoon all hope everyone's well. Started my AMT IH 4300 Transtar day cab build. The cab is painted Model Master Daytona Yellow lacquer. I was going to paint the frame Gloss Meadow Green. However I am having second thoughts and thinking maybe a Royal Blue instead. I am thinking that the frame on the standard 4300 (Non Eagle) were painted most likely Black and the Eagle's were various other colors? If anyone has any suggestions it would be most appreciated. Thank you.

We shall see. Also thinking about doing a two tone cab with the darker shade starting at the top of the front fenders and covering the bottom of the cab.

Thanks. Actually may be looking for one of those more aggressive drop visors. I think they sell them on this website as Revell Snap KW visors.
  18. I have been slowly working on an AMT White Western Star cab for a little bit. Going for that mid-late 1970's O/O leased to a carrier effect. The cab, hood, and mercury "Hot Box" sleeper are painted in Rustoleum Gloss Meadow Green as seen in the picture. The frame will be painted in a bright yellow. Going with 10 hole wheels on the front, and spoke "wagon wheels" on the rears. As I have been going through the parts and separating them I have discovered I am missing the hood hinges, the brake cylinders for the rear wheels, and the two bottom rails that glue into the sleeper to raise it up off of the frame. Not sure where to find replacements. So if anyone has any ideas I'd sure appreciate it. Thank you.

KW W900 Aerodyne (as seen below) just ordered. I start her upon arrival (weather permitting). I'm hoping she comes out as good OR better than my 359 and that's the best model I ever built. There are a lot of inspirations floating around the Web so the possibilities are endless. Only thing I need to get is the visor for the KW. I assume it with have to be resin cast. If anyone has suggestions on where to get visors I'm all ears

    My Fathers Day gift

Thank you for the reply. May actually go with the Revell KW W900 Aerodyne "Snap Tite" kit instead. It will go along with my Peterbilt 359 "Snap Tite" I built last October/November. They ain't complex but are fun builds nonetheless. Pic of the 359 is below.

    IH 4300 Transtar color choices

Thanks Paul. The red is from a cheap can of Walmart enamel spray. As is the flat black.

    IH 4300 Transtar color choices

Paul, Good morning and hope you are well. I have decided to paint the frame and associated parts semi gloss black. Aluminum tanks and stacks. Going to do it as a fleet unit with an owner operator feel to it. Need to acquire the necessary decals. I kind of like the ones from either the AMT Cali Hauler, or the new Autocar reissue. Going to source them probably on Ebay. Thanks again for all your help thus far.
