  1. Yeah, the Autocar in the 4th photo from the end had a good ol 8v71. I remember they had a sandwich board out in front of it just out of the photo that said it was a 318 Detroit. Not sure how common it was in an Autocar, but overall there was a lot of green leakers at the show. In fact, the green and white 352 just ahead of it was a 1979 model with an 8v92 in it. The owner mentioned how uncommon it was to have one in a 352 that wasn’t a 352H. All original. I said “oh man, I bet that sounds sweet” and he said “we’ll, let me fire it up for you”. It was a crowd-caller, because that old mean Detroit starting bringing a bunch of people over when he started it up.
  2. Other than checking out all of the awesome trucks up close, the thing I enjoyed most was the conversations I had with the owners. So many great stories. Another thing I enjoyed was the drive south towards home on Sunday. Many of the trucks were taking the same route, so it was like a 5 hour rolling truck show.

    Back to truck modeling

Welcome to the forum. You bring a lot of resources, that’s for sure. I hope you enjoy your time here.

    Ford LT9000 Dump Papco

Looks great. The “happy accident” of the hood and cab color difference is actually really cool, and realistic. That often happens naturally in life as the elements take their toll on paint, or when parts are replaced or repainted. The weathering is excellent overall, with the subtle dents in the tailgate are looking great. Fine work.

    M-715 3/4 ton P/U

Awesome! Love that cab top, incredibly realistic and very convincing. The rotary beacon light on the pole is excellent.

    My Revell USA Peterbilt 359

Nice work with this one. You should be proud. I like the fact you added a visor, it goes along way to improving the overall look of the model.

    Original AMT Peterbilt rehab

Nice. I like that shade of red on it. A simple, yet very effective base for the photo, too.

    1944 Diamond T 6x6

It’ll be a neat project. The frame looks great, straight and square. What’s you’re rough estimate as to the ratio of scratch-built to kit or aftermarket-sourced parts and components? I’m sure you have a detailed build plan, and I’m always curious how you approach such a project.

    Let's see if this works

Looks like you’re good to go.

1981 Volvo N-10 Septic Tank Truck

Neat that the choice in paint worked out in more ways than just looking good. Anything similar to a “municipal green” always looks great on an ol’ dirty commercial truck. It’s very cool that you’re leaving hints of the original factory color. I love it when there’s a visible sense of “history” on the vehicle. Neat project. Leaves are a great example of “scale fluidity”. There are many 1/35 items, especially diorama-based scenery items that work well in our 1/24-1/25 scale world. Great treatment of the interior. I like the fact you deleted the passenger seat.

    A small save and rebuild

That’s a beautiful little rig. Nice save! Great details in the bed. The tool box contents are awesome. The boom looks to be fully functional with that level of detail.

Welcome to the forum! All it takes is a love for trucks, the rest you learn as you go.

    1971 Autocar A64B & Haulaway Trailer

Nice-lookin’ hot rod style hauler. I’d imagine it would have quite the sound with that straight-piped v12. Funny about those tires, now we know Revell essentially got the design from themselves for their “floats”. A great build overall, and I especially like the 23 1/2 hour road service, just don’t call during that 30 minute break - whenever that is!

    Almost there

Nice work so far. I like how the engine is a little dirty. I also like the addition of the visor and the headache rack. These are good kits. Highly versatile. You can really dress them up.

    BJ and the Bear

Beautiful work on this one. Such an attractive paint scheme.

    Blue Devil

I like it when the tank straps are painted to match the frame. Good color choices.

    Blue Devil

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you bring a lot of experience here when it comes to real trucks. That kind of knowledge can be really helpful to the modeling community. For the Classic XL, I wish it was easier to find in 1/24 or 1/25 scale. There’s been a very limited number of resin conversion kits made over the years. There’s also been a few guys to make them using parts (and ingenuity) from both Italeri’s FLC and FLD kits. Either way, not easy, unfortunately. Though, I’ve seen them in 1/32 scale here and there, but that doesn’t help much when you’re into 1/24 and 1/25.

    Earl Miller air lines

Yeah, they do look nice. I have a few sets, myself.

    Pintle hooks

Forgot about Jamie having them. Yeah, he has a lot of great stuff.

    1/32 snap kit aftermarket parts

The only source I know of is a guy on eBay - blackjack_mod - he makes a lot of 1/32 aftermarket parts, and if he doesn’t list what you’re looking for, send him a message. He has a lot more than what’s on there now, and he is willing to design and make other parts.

    Pintle hooks

It’s possible they had some on here, but I know there’s a few other sources, if MTB doesn’t have them. I haven’t purchased these parts in particular, but the other things I’ve received from Kootenay have been awesome. https://www.kootenay3dmodelparts.com/product-page/1-24-1-25-pintle-hitch-style-2

    3D printing

I’m no expert on 3d printing whatsoever, but it does sound interesting, and I’ve purchased some printed parts and they’ve been great. I think it’s a huge part of the future of the hobby. Anyway, I was looking for random truck parts last night and stumbled upon this site which seems to have a few offerings of files in 1/25 scale. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I thought of your post when I saw it, and thought I’d reply. Maybe it’s a start. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/big-rig-front-grill-for-peterbilt-359-1-25
