Glad you like it. The tie-downs were one of the most tedious parts of the build, but they are cool. But, I can’t take full credit for those, they are from Czech Truck Model. CTM offers them in orange and yellow, and the photo etched ratchet goes together well, except the tiny styrene rods for the ratchet crossmembers supplied are too large to fit through the side holes, but you could just cut them to width and glue. I instead used smaller diameter rod and fit them through the holes. Minor issue. The strap material is easily wrapped around the parts and secured in place with a bit of CA. I placed tiny magnets on the ends and hidden underneath the car to make them removable to switch out the load in case I’m ever not in a Plymouth kind of mood. -

Thanks everyone! -
Excellent work, that’s a mean looking truck. The subtle weathering looks great, especially the road grime spraying up and back towards the sleeper.

Beautiful model, nice craftsmanship.

Welcome back

That’s something you don’t see often, indeed.

That’s a neat build.

Here’s a 359 I built about 18 months ago, but never posted here. Representing a modern day version of a truck that is still serving it’s owner well after all the years. I posted it on the MCM forum, so some of you may have seen it already. It was an enjoyable build, and my second venture into weathering, which I now find to be much easier to build than a showroom clean model - it’s harder to screw it up, mistakes can be disguised. Thanks for checking it out.

They are all great builds, but if I had to rank them, I’d put the Freightliner and tanker at the top. That one really catches the eye. The Pete looks nice with the auto carrier. Of course, the Charmin rig really captures the era and circumstances during which it was built. That one will serve as a representative time piece and conversation starter for years to come.

Thanks guys! The missing/chipped hood paint is the plain white portion of a leftover decal, torn up. Simple and effective.

That’s coming together nicely. The finish looks great, it has a very period-correct sheen to it.

OTR units do not make good tri axle dump trucks!

Well, that explains it. A properly modified/factory equipped truck, it was not. Thanks for the info, I was really wondering about this one. -
Excellent addition to the forum, thanks Casey!

I have never had issues accessing the site, and I just tried it a minute ago, and everything is fine, using an iPhone. But, I seem to remember a while back people saying they have issues when trying to visit using Firefox. I’m not sure why. Try to use a different browser, if possible. See if that works.

Welcome aboard!

Thank you!

That’s a great idea, I’d love to see a 3d print available.

Your paint looks fantastic. Just saw that CTM is going to make a resin Mack B model. I wonder how it’ll compare to AITM, and if the parts, like the glass, will be interchangeable. I don’t know if they’d sell it separately, but it’s a thought.

Neat project. Garbage trucks are always a unique build, as scratch building is really the only way to go. Too bad nobody ever made a kit. But, it’s great to see your project. Someday, maybe I’ll put one on the list.
