Slim Posted December 1, 2015 First "in project post"here for me. I will be upfront and let you guys know I am not a "show quality builder". I am a retired diesel mechanic and build for my entertainment. The four foot rule applies quite a bit on my trucks. This project came about by following a simple engine conversion I found on making a 6V71 out of a 8V71. Once the engine was completed I needed a truck for it. This is a Spalding resin conversion and my first conversion with a full cab.The donor chassis was from an AMT Astro kit. The fuel tanks are the same with the center strap removed. I used aluminum tubing with a piece of mechanics wire for the cab tilt. The enginescratch built bumper using two prototypes combined into one.my method of mounting the cab so it can be removed over and overIntake and exhaust plumbingScratch built muffler from a ink pen. Thanks for looking in
Cornbinder Posted December 1, 2015 Already looks nicer than the average four-footer, that's for sure.
