White 7400 & Detroit 6V71 project

Recommended Posts

First "in project post"here for me.  I will be upfront and let you guys know I am not a "show quality builder". I am a retired diesel mechanic and build for my entertainment.  The four foot rule applies quite a bit on my trucks.

This project came about by following a simple engine conversion I found on making a 6V71 out of a 8V71. Once the engine was completed I needed a truck for it.  This is a Spalding resin conversion and my first conversion with a full cab.

The donor chassis was from an AMT Astro kit. The fuel tanks are the same with the center strap removed.  I used aluminum tubing with a piece of mechanics wire for the cab tilt.
