Got some more done on the chassis, first color on the engine, roughed the interior assembly and rounded up some parts for the shorty chassis from the dead truck box. Paul Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

Welcome!! AMT does a log trailer in 1/25, it is out of production but not hard to find on the internet. as for a power unit you can use a number of AMT kits including the like the Western Star or International Paystarand for a few. AITM does resin cab conversions to do purpose built power units that use AMT Autocar, Peterbilt or Kenworth Chassis' https://aitruckmodels.com/product-category/conversionkits/

Here is an alternative for you from the Sterling Factory. You CAN use the AutoCar rears in place of chain drives. Paul. -

Hees a few photos of a 1940's 1950's Sterling drive set up. The differential is in the center of the 2 axles. Look at Tamiya, Top Studio and Model Factory Hiro, they make a few 1/12 and 1/16 scale Motorcycle chain and sprocket set up detail sets. https://www.hiroboy.com/112_Motorcycle_Chain_Set__P941--product--2135.html -

Looks much better in the white. Paul

Still a fine looking build. I like it. Paul

Going to be nice when done. Drove one once, I'm over 6 feet with size 13 shoes and glove size is XXL, My head hit the roof and the cab back and the wheel was in my waist. Never would have made it in their era.
-
Done, Made up some tools and stuff for the bed and added some Shabo Desert Duelers to it.

Classic paint scheme on a classic truck. Paul

Anther out for dusting. Built from the Bill Signs kit and the K100 kit. From bumper and Roo bar is from the Italeri Scanna Wrecker and AMT Alaskan Hauler K.W. which I made functional. Wheels are from un known resin caster maybe White Fang from Oz?
-
Had this and two other K.W.'s out of the case for dusting. Here is the Revel Kenworth K100. Chassis is stretched cab is 2 combines and the 16/92 was copied from a similar powered Bonneville F350 pick up truck racer Allison Automatic from Auslowe, Stacks are K&S Aero Struts for R/C aircraft. Decking is polished .010 roof valley sheathing. Decals are home made and paint is ancient Cal Custom Peach Pearl. Paul

Last one out for dusting. Italeri LN9000 with the wheels changed and from the wooden ship parts in the Model Shipways Catalog laser cut mahogany grate with a wash of Rust-All and Tamiya Semi Black .

Coming along nicely. I recently finished a R but made it an earlier steel dash , short cab unit. Like them as real and models (I own and drive a Marmon tho )
