AMT KW Kits
By vincen47 · PostedCan’t offer any help, but may I suggest asking over at the Model Cars Magazine forum? It gets a lot more traffic and I’m sure there’s a truck guy over there that has built those kits. -
AMT KW Kits
By Jersee Jerry55 · PostedTo all, Hello and hope everyone is well. I have two AMT KW Conventional kits both bought within the last year. One purchased last May is the Alaskan Hauler, and the other is the W900 Challenge mixer. I know of the traditional issues involving the windows, and the rear suspension so that being said if anyone has built either, or both I could use pictures for reference on both of these kits. For the Alaskan I have already removed the left side air cleaner port, and filled in the holes for the left side exhaust stack. Have assembled the butterfly hood. Obviously I am going with the Hill & Hill livery. Just have to score the Green paint, and the Red paint. As far as the Challenge mixer goes I am unsure if I am building it as the mixer, or as an over the road tractor. If I go the tractor route I do have all the parts for a Mercury sleeper box. These in addition to the two AMT CO4070A's, and the Peterbilt 359 California Hauler in the stash should keep me busy. For a while. The true test is to avoid going on websites, or into Hobby Shops and picking anymore kits that I have no time to build. LOL. Thank you for looking. Kind regards, Jersee Jerry 55 -

AMT Ford C 900/Garwood LP 900 refuse truck

Kenworth C500/Holmes 1801...kinda
By Brian Conn · Posted...Impressive build. I've got a wrecker in the pipe line, getting all the parts and pieces rounded up. Bought an early 60's I.H DCO 405 Emeryville resin cab before the prices went insanely high from Spaulding trading a couple of years ago, Picked up a 3-D print Holmes 750 minus body a year or so ago and picked up a derelict Transtar cab over for $20.00 at a model show a couple years ago that will donate its chassis....building a 1:1 wrecker that I remember as a kid growing up.
