AMT and Italeri
Trailer being 1/24 is one Italeri trailers 53' or 40' course it could be miss marked Mobius Reefer

Saw pre order for what I thought was some new AMT. Revell/Italeri 1/24 Reefer Trailer and a 1/24 Peterbilt. Seems to be reboxed under AMT. :(

The motorcycle parts links are appreciated.....I might have to look into one to give it a try. Wonder if anyone else has ever done it?
Here is an alternative for you from the Sterling Factory. You CAN use the AutoCar rears in place of chain drives. Paul.

Great looking chassis!! Paul

2 hours ago, Dennis said:Well, dog-gone!! I knew earlier Sterlings were chain drive but it never occurred to me the one I got from AIT fell into that category. Now I have no idea what chassis to buy or what parts to chase to replicate the chain drive!! For most vehicle models I've ever built, I always liked those where the wheels would turn. I was expecting to achieve that here as well, but a chain drive mechanism is a real challenge. Anyone have thoughts as how to proceed? Anyone done an, "active," chain drive chassis?????
Hees a few photos of a 1940's 1950's Sterling drive set up. The differential is in the center of the 2 axles.
Look at Tamiya, Top Studio and Model Factory Hiro, they make a few 1/12 and 1/16 scale Motorcycle chain and sprocket set up detail sets.

Now I need to research what base kit/chassis to buy to build the conversion on. All AIT's kits/parts appear to be 1:25, which is what I've settled on.
Back to more shopping/homework.....
I generally use the AMT Autocars for any of the non Pete, KW Mack or IH kitsconversions paul

Looks much better in the white. Paul

Still a fine looking build. I like it. Paul

Going to be nice when done.
Drove one once, I'm over 6 feet with size 13 shoes and glove size is XXL, My head hit the roof and the cab back and the wheel was in my waist. Never would have made it in their era.

Classic paint scheme on a classic truck. Paul

Coming along nicely. I recently finished a R but made it an earlier steel dash , short cab unit. Like them as real and models (I own and drive a Marmon tho )

Impressive! and Big.

Nice ,super clean build. I like it! Paul

Add to my winter list a pair of AMT Cat Dozers and the AMT heavy flatbed trailer.

Picked up a pair of Autocar dumps and plan on building one of my real units. The second build is a stretched cab Mack Cruiseliner with Mack twin turbo V10.
Up here in Maine where I am the 3 days of summer is due to arrive on Monday. :)

Nice work and cool project.
I worked for Walton P Davis in Locust Valley L.I. N.Y. in 1973 and they had a few dozen of them and ran horses and Moving trailers up and down the east coast. All V8 powered and ran with trucks with "real" engines quite easily. The issue like the Allis Chalmers "Big Als" was lack of service facilities.

I like the pearl white color. Your weathering on the Cat is very realistic and well done. Going to be a sharp model when it is all finished. Paul

Started out to build my '88 D150 I bought new (41000 miles) but things are different. Cab roof, hood are major different but the least least issue is the grill. Whipped out the Revell Dodge Ramcharger 4x4 and low and behold it is 1/24 So decided to make a D100 with the 1990 two tone of Viper Blue and Silver. Thought lets really step out of the box and make it a 225 Slant Six and a Heavy Duty 4 speed. Paul

Now that I am officially semi retired (unless I find an interesting haul) and since it's too late to repaint my Marmon time to build models . . .
Building a big sleeper, E12 V12 Turbo tri axle Mack. Since I had to cut a pair of cabs and a pair of chassis figured I do a shorty also. Here is the start. Paul
