Very Nice build!! Welcome to the Forum Doc!

Hello, my name is Brian. I'm new to this forum. I just started building models again a few years ago after a break of around 10 years. I've built a few trucks over the past 3 years though. I'm not a pro builder, just an average builder. I'm really into old iron more than modern trucks. I've already seen some great work on this site. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Brian

This one began with a fiberglass cab and the sleeper from the snap KW. I wanted to create that back yard project look or what I call "Johnny Cash" look. (one piece at a time) The chassis is Pete 352, The Engine is an 8v-71 with a turbo added to make it a 8v-71T, the rear axle is a tag, and there's a Johnny Cash 8-track in the cab if you want to play "One Piece at a Time." Nice work!! I'm glad that you mentioned the fifth wheel. I was going to ask about the challenges of hooking to a trailer.😀

I like it!!

Mark is the editor at Scale Auto Magazine now. I wouldn't look for the truck model magazine to ever be released.

Thanks!!

This one began with a resin cab from "Back Yard Shed" (I think). The frame rails are from Gary Wallace, The 6-71N Detroit is from Clint Freeman, the bed was modified from the AMT kit. This began with a resin cab and fenders from KP Conversion. The frame, front springs, front axle, tanks and brake chambers, and radiator are from the AMT R-Model Mack. The rear Peterbilt Air Leaf suspension, fifth wheel plate and the battery box are from the Snap Peterbilt. The transmission, front bumper, and air bags (cast copies) are from the Ertl Transtar II. The wheels, tires, drive axles, mud flaps, pogo stick, shifter, pedals, drive shaft and fifth wheel are AMT from the parts box. The seats are from the Monogram CJ-7. The engine is a 4-71 Detroit cut down from a Spaulding Trading and Shipping 6-71 with some 8v-71 parts too. The Monogram 50 Ford Pickup donated a few parts as well. This one is going to be kind of a hot rod almost rat rod type of build. The engine is a 4-71 Detroit made by cutting down the Spaulding 6-71. The Transmission is out of the Ertl Transtar II kit. The frame is one that I picked up off of Ebay already assembled, (never buy a frame already assembled). The frame was originally an AMT R Model Mack frame, the rear air leaf is from the Peterbilt snap kit, and the drive axles are from an AMT Road Boss kit. Thanks Chuck! My last two builds were inspired by several of your builds. Thanks! It was a little different build for me.

This one was built from the AMT Orange Blossom Special kit. It is meant to represent an old barn find.
