A little more progress,
-
Welcome aboard! I don't do Facebook myself, so I'm looking forward to seeing your builds!
-
This will be another great one to watch!!

Thanks Brian! Thanks Dave! The Transtar was only the cab and cab related parts. Evidently someone had used the chassis out of the kit before I got it. The chassis that I'm using here is the latest 4300 kit. The Paystar logging kit is rare, but the box is pretty rough on this one, and when I started this project, I realized the someone had surgically removed the pintle hitch from the kit by cutting a very small hole in the parts bag. With that being said, the collectors might not get too upset with me over this one. I do like building these old kits though. I figure that is what they were made for. 😀 I got a little paint on the chassis today.

Looks Great! I like the short bumper!
-
Charles, I wish that I had a small part of your talent! You're an artist!!
-
I like it! If you're not happy with the bumper you may consider making it a shorty bumper since you're going for the fleet look. Nice work!

This one is mostly stock. The engine was swapped out to a IH V-8 and the wheels swapped with a 4070A and I shortened the frame.

You have my attention! Looking forward to seeing more!

I wasn't taking your comment in a negative way towards myself at all. I was just saying that I should probably make a better effort to support this site. After all, this this site is centered around our hobby, specifically trucks, and doesn't require a photo hosting site to be used. I'm bad myself not to post any progress pictures over here. Maybe if a few of us that are here from time to time will create some more traffic over here, maybe it will attract some more traffic. Just thinking out loud. I really hate to see Hank's Truck Forum go, I would hate to see this site gone too. I've tried to stop in a little more often lately, but maybe that's because I seem to have some extra time at home right now.

Thanks so much! I too believe that KJ had the best tires available for a vintage build. There are several of KJ's items on this truck, 10 tires, grill, bumper, fans, and intake stack. I was sorry to see him close, but I'm glad that he is putting his family first though. -
This one began with the Ertl kit. The engine is a 6v-92T Detroit diesel. The dump bed was modified. It is meant to look like a refurbished truck that has found new life from someone wanting to start out in the dump trucking business. Thanks!! Thanks Charles! It was an experiment like most of my builds. We are doing well. I hope that you are.

Looks great! I built one of these when they first came out in the 80s. I remember thinking; "this is the coolest truck kit ever."

Thanks! Thanks! The fans came from KJ at Double Take Replicas. Sadly, he is no longer operating business. -
This started with the AMT L8000 car hauler kit. The 3406 Cat is from one of the snap kits. The tanks and front wheels are from Auslowe, The tires are from doubletake, and the decals are from modeltruckin.
