AMT 1/43 Peterbilt 359 w/ 40’ Watkins Reefer Trailer
Gary Chase replied to A64B's topic in Model Truck Show Room
That’s a great looking build, love the tire/wheel choices, adds to the timely look of the truck. -
I haven’t posted anything here in awhile, be nice to see some activity again. So here is my latest completion. This started out as the AMT Autocar A64 B tractor kit. Stretched frame, added lift axle, fenders, later model turbo Cummins with larger turbo and plumbed inter cooler, custom mirrors, custom visor, custom dash, some plumbing, hand made exhaust, 10 wheels and on and on.

This build was wrapped up a few weeks ago. It is a kit bash with the Watkins 925 and the Malone race truck. I used the long hood (15mm longer than stock) and the twin blower/ twin turbo V12 engine. The turbos were exchanged for larger turbos and re-plumbed for an intercooler. Frame stretch, hand built aluminum exhaust, custom fuel tanks, fabricated headache rack, grill was cut out and replaced with a screen, custom interior, aftermarket tires, and cast mirrors.

Just finished this build today. Nearly every part was modified/ replaced with 3D print or scratch built.

Any progress on this build?

Thanks Brian, I don’t judge, so I don’t what they look for. Thank you for the kind words.

That does sound fun, maybe this year I can participate in the show.
-
Thank you sir, maybe some day I will take a couple of these trucks to a show. Problem is, I can see every mistake and I know everyone else will see them as well.

Hey, how are ya, thanks for looking, may do this kit bash again in a custom road truck.
-
Thank you, yup wish I could drive a truck that nice
-
Finished this truck a few months back, I started with the AMT Watkins kit. Built a double drop trailer with similar treatment that the truck has with fenders, colors and tires/wheels.

That’s a fantastic build, well done

Sharp looking truck, like the single axle flat bed.
-
That looks really good, well done.
-
Thank you very much

I like all those paint jobs, the white, gold and orange is really cool. Not sure what happened, but it’s cool.

Trailer is coming together nicely, I assume the truck and trailer will share the same paint scheme.

That finish is so realistic, very well done.
