Mock-up for fuel tanks and battery boxes.
-
Was looking for an easy build with not very much fabrication and decided on a GMC General ( I have four of those kits) and kit bashing a box from the Ford delivery truck kit. Then I found these decals of a beer company and thought “everybody needs a beer truck on the shelf. I started on this a couple weeks ago , so doing a bit of catch-up. a bit of mock-up to get frame length and wheelbase correct. Added one inch ahead of the drive axles and 1.5 inches on the end of the frame, will trim later when I get the lift gate mounted. got some paint work done today the chassis is coming together.

Another mock-up to get exhaust length and look at colors.

Your build is looking really good, nice work -
My room just keeps filling up, been wanting to build a glass display case to store my builds, maybe keep them clean longer.

Wasn’t sure where this build was going but after some thought and accumulated parts. Well a newer style log truck is the build…….so far. The red Kenworth is the neighbors truck and is the inspiration. They run the single wide tires all the way around, air lift axles everywhere. I got a bunch of reference pictures and measurements. The beds are 26 ft long. got the beds roughed out. getting to work on the trailer.

Wow, that build looks so good, well done -
Been collecting parts most the summer, so yesterday I laid out all the parts today I measured out the frame length and got the frame rails together, will need to trim off about a quarter of an inch……..maybe😉 I did take the time to add a couple Craftsman toolboxes this summer under my bench to organize a bit better

Hang in there, went thru that about 20 years ago and she threw out all my builds and unbuilt kits in the trash among other stuff

Good to see you picking this build up again.

Pulled this one back on the bench while I am waiting on parts for two other builds. Nothing special, just a box build with a couple upgrades.

Finished the trailer today and used another truck build for pics. Now back to finish the 4300.

Made up two rubber bumpers for the trailer, painted black stuck on the tape. Made a new rear bumper painted blue. Used the kit tie down bars, modified and painted black. Worked on tool box, mounting brackets attached, made door from diamond plate but not happy with it

Whipped up a shipping container and found some ratchet straps.
