Outstanding, love the fleet🏆

Yes, will give it a try. I still have the other hood (grill not molded in) and paint work is complete. Will try to save the hood first but have a backup plan.
-
Tamiya 2mm white for the paint line. , I have yellow but never used it as a paint line. I just finished my International 5600 build using the same process with no issues with paint line but this time , no success.

Well this didn’t go well, let dry and start over.

Outstanding build, love those old Mack trucks.

AMT Ford C 900/Garwood LP 900 refuse truck
Gary Chase replied to Brian Conn's topic in Model Truck Workbench
Looking really good, detailing takes so much time but so worth it. -
Fab work on rear fenders completed, except final glue up. Got two coats of paint on the rear fenders, now let dry then wet sand, apply two more coats. Next, second color on front fenders.
-
Thank you, working today on the six rear fenders and tail light assembly, then paint them blue along with the front fenders
-
Quick mock-up after first color on, new cab, new hood with molded in grill, different front bumper. Got the headache rack painted as well
-
Grill molded in, first color going on.
-
Thanks, paint going on today.
-
Molding the grill into the hood, built a simple headache rack, filled some unused holes in the cab.

Post up your build in WIP Big Rigs, so we can follow along. Fun to watch the builds come together.

Yes, I’m trying to save the chrome grill/hood ornament at the same time. The kit has the wrong suspension, the sleeper is a real pain, the fuel tanks where crap and so on. Kinda why I stopped working on it and gathered a new plan

American Style Aluminum Rims for 1:14 scale trucks
Gary Chase replied to Cleo Ballon's topic in Model Truck General Discussion
I have noticed a lot of really detailed parts for 1:14 scale trucks on the market. That market seems to be growing a lot these days. I might build one of that scale some day. -
Wheels, tires axle modifications?
Gary Chase replied to Mike_F's topic in Model Truck General Discussion
I build all my trucks so that no axle turns and agree that is just an accident waiting to happen especially when the grandkid’s are nearby. I do the same but use solid plastic axles and I use Moebius wheelset most of the time. Before glueing the tire/wheel combo on, I will take the time to rotate them, mark them so they all line up well and make contact to the flat surface. Takes time, but to see a finished rig with an inside dual hanging in the air just looks strange. -
Thanks, need to finish the lights, jacks and air line mount on the trailer, not a lot of work but gotta get done.

Outstanding build, love those older truck builds, well done
