Thank you both. I'll post them in the completed section later today. The mixer i don't think there was one part that I didn't modify.. at least it seems like that.  :) .    Paul

Awesome!  If you want you can also add images of your builds to one of the existing galleries or create a custom gallery of your own.

  2. Welcome to MTB Paul!  Glad to have you onboard.

Nice job on both of those builds.  It was a tough choice but I decided to use the mixer as our main page image (Hope you don't mind).   The KW and its weathering are fantastic but the engine detail and the garden hose on the international won me over.

    Can't wait to see more!

Yeah, back when it was in the all black paint, box photo, the T-600 won the coin toss for the purchase.

The black paint box art is the kit I started with.  Bummed it off of my uncle years ago.

The more I look at the paint scheme the more I like it. I'm still thinking some large single round headlights would look fantastic on it. Or, something I don't think I've ever seen done on one of these before, keep the four stock-sized round lights, but instead of using the "two in one" bezels use a separate bezel for each lens.

Thanks!  Maybe Mack headlights with the flat piece that goes behind them? (no Idea what the proper term is for them)

  5. Painted the chassis, added some ROG Pete wheels and tires to the rear, did a little more work on the motor and laid some paint on the hood. I still need to dial the color in on the exhaust manifold and turbo but, although it is a bit different than I originally planned, I think I am happy with the paint scheme on the hood.

IMG_2763.JPGI finished the hood and cast the first one a couple of weeks ago only to realize that I made a major error.  I somehow managed to make one of the fenders a tiny bit wider than the other.  It is not dramatic but is noticeable.  Therefore, I decided to start over from scratch.  An opportunity to make it better, right?

Thus far, I have 3d printed the upper hood, created sides from sheet styrene and have tacked a 3D printed right side fender in place.  With not being bound by kit hood top, I was able to add a bit more of a drop to the front of the hood and make the shape of the upper hood more accurate.  However, since the kit cab sits about .1" lower than it would for a B model, I was forced to shorten the grill a bit and narrowed it as well to maintain the correct length/width proportions.  I was tempted to make it to scale but decided not to because it would force builders to raise the kit's cab in order to achieve the correct fitment and because the rivet counters are likely to be the only ones to notice or care.  Ease of use beat accuracy in this case.

All in all, I am happy with it and believe that in the end, it will be a much better effort than the first attempt.
