I replaced the rear fender section to get rid of the flat spot that the A model fenders have and to widen the side of the fender near the rear. Fill, sanding and fine tuning continues. The trick will be to replicate my work on the other side.

I made a little more progress last night. I made the headlight pod and hit it with a quick shot of primer to see where I am at. The next challenge will be to clan up the underside of the hood and then correct the rear portion of the fender (get rid of the flat spot.) Wish me luck.

Nice! Real nice weathering on the wheels.

If it turns out well, I am thinking of casting the hood, grill, and headlights. I will need a few for some other builds and if there is interest, I'll make them available to others.

Definitely different and definitely cool! A lot of nice touches on this one and the floor, wow! I can't wait to see what else you share. --Casey

Welcome Brian. Good to have you with us. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you or if you have any suggestions to improve the site. --Casey

I have made a little progress. The frame has been assembled and the base color has been applied to the motor and trans. I also finished up the grill work save some minor touch-up on the black. Lastly, I have decided on a paint scheme.

It may be a long shot but you may try asking in the Nostalgic Paint Schemes group on Facebook.

Another high quality build.

Why I haven't been as active here as I'd like.

Oddly enough, I picked up a beater as well, a 2002 GMC Sierra 4x4 z71 with 280K on it. Replaced the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, oil pump, rear trans seal and one of the front differential seals. I'm Happy to report that it is leak free and running like a top. Otherwise, a couple of college classes, honey-do's and work have kept me away from the bench and the site. Hopefully, I'm back for a bit. --Casey -
Very cool. Looks like a real working truck. What did you paint the tanks with? They look like real aluminum tanks!
-
Very cool. I like the way you carried the stripe down the tanks and the visor is sweet. Thanks for sharing! --Casey

I would love to get my hands on one of those kits. Please keep us updated on your progress.

I like it. My uncle owned a R700L years ago. I rode many a mile in it and have loved them ever sense. Please keep up updated. I would be very interested to see what's involved in mounting the cab and hood to the frame. --Casey

Very cool. I love the weathering and the 105 is awesome. Looks like something out of Mad Max.

As you know, I am in love with this thing. Can't wait for an update!

Just ordered some. Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing. Someone told me about those a while back but I forgot the name. Which do you recommend for cabs/sleepers? --Casey

Looking good, I need to pick up a couple of those kits.

I stretched the frame, added Mack rear ends, and I'm scratch building the log bed and loader. Feedback is welcomed and appreciated. --Casey

Making some progress on my "Unfinished Big Rig Model Truck Club" (FB group) build-off truck. Sort of a resto-mod. Rear suspension from the Italeria FLD 120 and my attempt at an N14 made from the same kit's engine. Still lots to do and learn as I go along.

Thanks!
