  1. Im not trying to be critical by any means, but to achieve what your looking to do, it would be much easier and more accurate to just put a spread axle air ride under an R model Mack kit. Using the Pete chassis will be a lot of work. The Mack frame rails would also be spread out at the front to fit the V8. No matter how, this will be a cool project.

    That would be my guess.This was the last real Autocar before they changed to the new White cabs and hoods that ended up becoming volvo. From what I understand, now they only build garbage truck chassis.
