Driptroit 71, Thank you for your reply. So I wasn't that far off with the Cat 3208. Thank you for the history on this engine.

I would like to know what engine is in the AMT1178 - Ford LNT-8000 Snow Plow 1/25 Scale Plastic Model Kit .

I do believe that it is a Caterpillar but I'm not sure what the model number of the engine is.

My guess is that it is a Caterpillar 3208.

Could someone confirm this guess or inform me of what engine it is.
