DRIPTROIT 71 replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in Model Truck Show Room
Thanks Chuck! I didn't realize it until a few days ago. -
As I said before Charles. I wish that I had half of your talent! Excellent Work!! It is looking Amazing!!

Sorry for the late response, I haven't been around for a while. Life has been busy. I don't remember the paint color. I'm pretty sure that I used Duplicolor in a spray can though. The stripes are decals from the kit. The air tank came from the AMT R-Model Mack. The 2 hole Budds came from Double Take Replicas, sadly they are no longer in business. Jamie at moluminum.com offers excellent 2 hole Budds though. I did convert it from 4 headlights to 2 headlights. If you have any more questions let me know.

Thanks Brian! -
This is a model of a truck from a company where my dad used to work; Piedmont Asphalt Paving Company.

Thanks guys!!! Thanks Charles! The aluminum is just a little heavier gauge than those aluminum throw away pans that you get at the grocery store. I've used for several things, including a leak in my roof.

Awesome build Brian!!

CF air tanks
DRIPTROIT 71 replied to Yardjockey 251's question in Model Tuck Building Question and Answer
I used the air tank off of the AMT R-Model Mack on my CF truck for the tank behind the cab. End caps can be made from stacking flat styrene, then sanding it down to the shape that you want. Sorry to take so long to answer. I haven't been on in a while. -
Resin Motor Ranch has them. They show "out of stock", but I am told that if you contact them that they will fix you up.

Nice looking Cannonball!!!

Thanks! I found it on Ebay. It was mastered by Charles Rowley. I don't think that anyone is currently casting it.

Thanks guys! -
I have been wanting to build this for a long time. I remember seeing these trucks on the road and at their shop. I back dated the cab a little. Powered by NH 230 Cummins.

Nice! I like the sleeper!

Log trailer
DRIPTROIT 71 replied to Blue Devil's question in Model Tuck Building Question and Answer
I never have, but I have wanted to try one. The limits of space keep me from building very many trailers. My plan was to use the frame from the AMT Fruehauf flatbed and then add standards. -
Looks great! Nice work!!

That looks Awesome!! Excellent work and scratch building!

Thanks Vince! Thanks Johnny! I use a very thin aluminum similar to flashing material. I glue it to the frame work and literally dent it after the glue has dried. The same effect can be done on the inside as well. Here is the inside of another ford bed that l did.
