Prostar

Recommended Posts

I put the Marmon back on the shelf for now. I have started the International  Prostar. I am using a couple of CTM photo etched sets on this one.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out with the photoetched parts and all.  Please keep us updated.

Most recent progress. I did have to break the bond on the first photo etched cross member. It was just a bit too wide. Now everything lines up perfectly. I did leave the axle locator arms loose until fully mated to the chassis and air bags. Worked out well. I will be using the  new Walmart decals from Modeltrucking.

Some updates on the build. I used most of the interior photo etch so far. I think it looks pretty good. The decals are very fragile. Still have some more interior painting to finish but it’s coming along nicely.

Here are a few shots of the interior build. I love how it turned out. I used all of the interior etch set and I am impressed with the detail. I am not a fan of the last picture. Hate to see it covered up. I may leave the top off and then leave the roof and air deflector loose on the cab so they can be removed. That way, you can see the interior. I have most of the engine detail painted and it is in the frame. I will send pics of that progress soon.

A few more updated pictures. I really messed up the a/c door on the truck so I will be reworking that mess. I did leave the interior top piece off so you can see interior work. Moebius super singles are being used as well.

WOW!

Just freakin WOW! What a great build! I have built eight trucks and trailers so far. Four Volvos, 3 780's and one 670. I really love your interior work. Nice color contrasts, looks like you could get in and drive off! I am kind of timid about showing my work in here. You guys have some real killer stuff! I have built aircraft for a bazillion years and can quote you armament loads, camo colors and Federal standard numbers. When it comes to these things? I am so lost! I have been looking at manufacturers sites for paint refs and some interior ideas but even the high gloss finishes scare the crap out of me. One step at a time I guess. Again great work, keep it coming!

Nice Prostar, you don’t see these built often. I don’t know how this one slipped by me last year, so I’m glad to see it now.
