DRIPTROIT 71 Posted May 24, 2018 This started with the AMT L8000 car hauler kit. The 3406 Cat is from one of the snap kits. The tanks and front wheels are from Auslowe, The tires are from doubletake, and the decals are from modeltruckin. DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) Thanks guys!! 10 hours ago, dsldriver said: Nicely done! The CAT fits great, after a bunch of tweaking I'll bet! Thanks! The engine is tilted to the passenger side (angle is based off a a Cummins photo because it was the only "out of truck" picture that I could find). Going off of reference photos, the turbo was lowered slightly and the fuel filter assembly was moved. I also filled in all of the hollow spots in the snap engine. Plybeep68 Posted November 10, 2018 I actually bought a 1971 a few months ago, the company that had it let it set for several years and was going to scrap/crush it, a friend told me about it and I was able to pick it up dirt cheap ! It has a 3208 Cat with a 5 speed trans and 2 speed axle , they were using it as a yard tractor. Needs a complete restoration.
